There’s Something Happening Here

Got a chance to pop into the Brancolini Grimaldi gallery earlier today to look at the ‘There’s Something Happening Here‘ photography exhibition. The same venue where I’d previously had a look at ‘She‘ by Lise Sarfati.

I didn’t have much time, but in this collection of work from a few photographers with widely varying styles I found a couple of new people to look out for. One particular image by Dru Donovan was the highlight, usefully called ‘Untitled’, but its on the front page of his website. It has more impact in printed and framed form.  [black and white shot of a blonde girl putting a false eyelash on her twin/somebody very similar looking]

Another highlight was Steven Brahms. My favourite picture was ‘Untitled (Stockpile)’, which can be found on his website under the survival project.

As usual I felt a mixture of inspired and inadequate after an exhibition visit.
